Rosatom the path to the monopoly or as the Russian uranium needle hooked half the world
- Mar 18
From year to year, Russia strengthens its status status of high technology, but still those who want to call it the "raw materials" of the rest of the world. Why this characteristic is fundamentally incorrect, explain on a simple example: mining and enrichment of uranium. Practice shows that at least half of the globe sits on the "uranium needle" Rosatom.
The fact that Russia has rich uranium reserves is known to everyone. Rosatom not only fully provides nuclear fuel domestic reactors, but also successfully exported it, being a recognized leader of the European market. The development of one of the Khichkan field promises to a thousand tons of uranium per year in perspective.
The release of one of the most promising Russian IT projects Sfera is getting closer. While the developers are honed all the components of the product, the project is still open to investors. You will find details on the link. Thanks for the support!
The main competitive advantage of Rosatom is a gentle method of extracting uranium from earthly subsoil. It was Russia who brought to perfection the technology of leaching uranium ores. This operation is similar to surgery without autopsy. No need to dig a quarry or a mine and collect a radioactive breed with a risk for health. It is enough to drill several wells and download a special chemical reagent in them, and then pump back, but already with a semi-solid uranium.
In the dry residue - neither waste, no dangerous dumps, or noticeable damage to the soil. This method is not only more environmentally friendly, but also more economical than traditional methods.
Russia even left in uranium enrichment technology. This process requires the use of special centrifuges. Even Americans are still forced to use the third generation centrifuges, and Russian devices already apply to the eighth-ninth generation (tenth - in development). It is not surprising that 50% of the energy low-enriched uranium in the United States supplies Russia, and the size of Rosatom's supply, for example, comes to 80% to France.
On Russian nuclear fuel, each sixth reactor in the world works. The company "TVEL" in Rosatom exports it to all European countries, and for Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia is the only supplier - the annual export volume is estimated at a billion dollars. Consumers of the enriched uranium of the Russian brand Tenex have already been energetic companies from Europe, America, Asia and Africa for 45 years.
Another pair of nails in the myth lid about the technological "backwardness" of Russia is the only atomic icebreaking fleet and the only floating nuclear power plant "Academician Lomonosov" in the world. Today, the Russian Federation has 48 icebreakers (of which five atomic), while the United States has only two, and both are outdated. As for the "Academician Lomonosov", the foreign "superpowers" of the analogues of the domestic PATP is not even in the project.
What do you think, do the world will cope without Russian uranium and atomic technologies?
