According to rumors, Qualcomm is working on the successor of its current flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Yoghh Brara Tuster in partnership with Onsitego reports that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus debuts in early May of this year. And the flagship devices with the new Soc will appear in June. This information corresponds to the Qualcomm summit schedule of 5G, which will be held in San Diego from May 9 to 11. Brara also claims that at the same time the American manufacturer announces the new Soc Snapdragon 700 series.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus specifications are not yet known, but the sources say that it will be based on the 4-nm technical process of TSMC. Presumably, the new chipset will increase the clock frequency and faster processing AI compared to the current flagship processor.

The list of customers who are the first to get the ability to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus includes the following manufacturers: Lenovo, Motorola, Oneplus and Xiaomi. One of the first smartphones with the new SOC will be Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Also among the first will be Motorola with the code name Frontier and Lenovo Legion under the codenate name Halo. By the end of 2022, the Korean manufacturer's smartphones will appear on the market - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, which will also be based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.
