The State Corporation "Rosatom" provides a large-scale program for the construction of the NPC-2 at the Makarovka site in the Kursk region. Kursk NPP-2 is built as a station for replacing power units of the current Kursk NPP. The area of ​​the NPP-2-80 hectares. The station provides for the construction of new generation of VVER-ODIA of increased safety and improved technical and economic characteristics. The NPS-2 project includes 4 power units with VVER ONIA reactor units (a typical optimized informatized power reactor). This is the most advanced product in the field of high nuclear technologies.

The total capacity of 2 blocks is 2510 MW, the thermal power of the reactor is 3300 MW. After the construction and commissioning is completed, each power unit of the Kursk NPP-2 will work for 60 years.
