Apple Microsoft and Google users will lose passwords
- May 07
As a rule, people use weak passwords for their online profiles. But some of us have such bad passwords that instead of relying on the fact that people will change their habits and create more reliable passwords, the three largest players in the technological space - Apple, Google and Microsoft - decided to completely get rid of passwords and use it completely A new system for entering users into their accounts.
As part of the joint efforts to reduce the number of data leaks and hacks of user accounts, Apple, Microsoft and Google, they made a joint statement that they allocated significant resources to create a new non -parallel entrance system. In the coming years, this system will be implemented on all platforms of mobile, desktop computers and browsers that they control.
The idea is to use one physical device, usually a smartphone, as the main means of authentication for applications, websites and other digital services. Unlocking a smartphone using a PIN code, pattern or fingerprint should be sufficient to enter any web service. These authenticators will use a cryptographic token or password, which will be jointly used by a phone and a website.
Thus, users will receive a very simple and safe entry system, and they do not have to remember complex passwords, because of which people first enter light passwords, such as “123456” or “Password”, and then repeat these passwords for various other profiles.
Moreover, the easiest way to “phishing” or theft of passwords is that people use hacked nets and websites while working on the Internet, where they need to enter the password that attackers select.
A non -parallel system that uses such a key will greatly complicate the hackers with remote access to the system entering the system, since access to the system requires access to the physical device.
