IA FederalCity has repeatedly written about the distribution of persons recognition systems in Moscow public transport and the possibility of leakage of personal data from these systems. However, despite such fears, the popularity of biometrics in Russia, and throughout the world is rapidly increasing, and far from use in buses or metro.

According to the Russian company RECFACES, which develops biometric solutions for various industries with a wide range of use, the annual growth of the domestic market of biometric systems exceeds 60%. Which is not surprising: both state structures and commercial firms give security in the field of personality recognition. Moreover, the business will soon overtake the public sector in the number of implementations of this technology.

We are talking about access to various places, both in the buildings of certain organizations, and in specific premises, as well as the control of attendance. Such biometry is also used in places with increased safety requirements: for example, unwanted visitors are revealed with its help. And thanks to this technology, companies introducing it in their own funds receive a fundamentally new level of this very security.

Recofaces software products are already quite widely used in the banking and transport sector, in industry, in business centers, at sports facilities and in many other places where visitors are required. The company is developing under a particular customer, and since 2020 it also offers ready -made, so -called “boxed” solutions that can be installed in about 20 minutes. In total, 9 boxed solutions have been developed in this organization to date, so the customer can choose the most suitable for himself.

Modern persons of recognition programs are able to identify a person faster than in a second with an accuracy of 99.9983%. This can, for example, help most reliably to control the time of coming to work and the departure of employees from it. Or in the banking sector, the operator can receive information about the client in advance when he just requests a ticket at the terminal, and prepare for a meeting with it, after which it will quickly serve it - the lines in the banks will disappear due to this. And in the online banking you can carry out all the operations, just looking at the camera or laptop camera and not thinking about the password.

This technology can bring no less benefit at border control at airports: biometric passports in combination with person recognition can significantly reduce passenger checks. Although so far, according to the same RECFACES company, the largest demand for such programs takes place in the banking sector - it was in it that its products in April 2022 increased by 120%. And in second place is the sector of modern class A+offices, in which the demand for front biometrics increased by 70%.

Despite the growing popularity of facial biometrics, the society remains a wary attitude to such programs related to fear that personal data stored in them can be used with fraudulent purposes. True, the tightening of punishments for the use of any personal data “not for its intended purpose”, which IA FederalCity also recently talked about, can reduce these fears, and therefore the developers of the software recognizing faces are sure that this technology will have a great future in all areas of human life.
