The hardware insider - Kopite7kimi shared the first result of testing the flagship video card GeForce RTX 4090. As it turned out, in the graphic test 3dmark Time Spy Extreme, the card scored more than 19,000 points.

If the GeForce RTX 4090 is 66% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, then it is about 82% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090. That is, rumors spoke about the two -time superiority of the new model over the old were not far from the truth.

Rumors are attributed to the GeForce RTX 4090 16384 CUDA nuclei, which is 52% more than that of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. Accordingly, the remaining increase in performance is on the account of a new architecture with an enlarged cache, which has already been mentioned earlier and, probably, higher frequencies.

But this synthetic test does not give a complete picture. Although this is a significant improvement in 4K resolution, since extreme settings are used, the card may differ in other tests, and nothing is known about the productivity of RTX 4000 rays.

Most likely, the RTX 4090 is equipped with 16384 CUDA nuclei, which is 52% more than RTX 3090 Ti. This would mean that an increase in the number of nuclei is just one variable that makes the next flagship even faster. This may be due to a higher clock frequency or higher TDP, which is expected to increase in the next generation.
